We work in close partnership with our shelter, Fundación DAR, in Tequisquiapan, Mexico, where every animal receives medical care, rehabilitation, and a real second chance at life.

At the shelter, rescued animals are treated in a full veterinary hospital, including surgery and intensive care. Beyond rescue, we focus on long-term change through spay and neuter programs, community education, and accessible veterinary care to address the root causes of suffering.

Around 70% of dogs in Mexico are homeless and suffering from abuse and severe neglect. Living on the streets without proper food, shelter, or veterinary care, these animals face disease, harsh weather, and conditions that threaten their survival every single day.

Offspring per Dog

A single unspayed female dog can produce over 100 offspring in just 7 years. This contributes directly to the overpopulation crisis in Mexico. Spaying and neutering are critical to stopping this devastating cycle and reducing the number of homeless animals.

Over half a million dogs and cats are abandoned each year in Mexico. This ongoing crisis continues to grow due to the cultural and economic situation. Without intervention, thousands more animals end up on the streets every single month.
