Kavu lived in a colony, surviving on scraps from the kind people who passed through and left food for him. But no one could get close. For months, he kept his distance — watching, cautious, never letting anyone touch him. He was visibly sick. Visibly thin. And still, he wouldn't come. In the end, it took a dart to finally bring him in.

He was exhausted, malnourished, and completely terrified. But he was safe.

Kavu has come a long way since then. He is doing better — healthier, calmer, and slowly learning that people can mean something other than danger. We are still working on his socialization, and he is making real progress. He is wonderful with other dogs, and they have been part of what helps him feel secure.

With people, he needs time, patience, and gentle reassurance. He won't come to you right away. But when he does, it means everything. Kavu needs a home that understands that kind of dog — one where no one pushes, no one rushes, and trust is built one quiet day at a time. He is looking for someone who has been here before with a fearful dog and knows exactly what that journey asks of you.

He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to travel to the USA or Canada for adoption.
