Olena was hit by a car and left in the street, unable to get up. Someone saw her and made the call. We went to her, found her on the ground, and brought her in. Her leg was broken. She needed surgery, and she got it.

She also needed time. Weeks of physiotherapy. Patience. And people who believed she would get there. She got there.

Olena has made a full recovery. She walks, she runs, she wags her tail like none of it ever happened — though we know it did, and we are so proud of how far she has come. Through every difficult moment of her healing, she remained exactly who she is: gentle with people, calm with other dogs, and somehow, inexplicably, one of the sweetest souls in the shelter. Whatever she went through on that street, she carries none of it in how she treats the world.

Now Olena is ready for the thing she has always deserved — a home.

She will do well with adults and older children and gets along with other dogs. She asks for very little: a soft place to rest, kindness, and someone to belong to.

She is spayed, fully vaccinated, up to date on all shots, and has no known health issues. Olena is ready to travel to the USA or Canada for adoption.
