Bruno was born in 2022. He came to the shelter as a tiny puppy, and the shelter is the only world he has ever known.

He has spent his entire life growing up there — watching other dogs get adopted, watching new ones arrive, waiting for someone to finally stop and choose him. He is still waiting.

There is a reason it has taken this long, and it has nothing to do with who Bruno is. He is friendly, playful, and genuinely sweet. He has medium energy, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs. By every measure, he is exactly the kind of dog someone should want. But Bruno is large. And Bruno is black. And those two things together mean almost certain invisibility. It is an unfair reality — one that has a name, black dog syndrome — and Bruno has been living it his whole life without knowing it.

But we refuse to give up on him, because Bruno deserves better than being overlooked. He is a big, beautiful boy with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. He just needs someone willing to see past what statistics say about dogs like him — and see him for exactly who he is.

Bruno is neutered, fully vaccinated, and in good health. He is ready to travel to the USA or Canada for adoption.
