Janis was only six months old when she was abandoned at the shelter after being attacked by other dogs belonging to the person who was supposed to care for her. She arrived covered in wounds, and her recovery was slow and painful. But Janis is a survivor, and she came back stronger.

Since 2022, Janis has grown up inside the shelter. She has never known the comfort of a home, a couch, or a family to call her own. Despite that, her spirit is incredible. She is energetic, playful, and loves running and playing with other dogs. She adores people and children, and her joyful energy is impossible to resist.

Like so many large black dogs, Janis is constantly overlooked — not for who she is, but for how she looks. After growing up without a family, she deserves one more than most.

She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to travel to the USA or Canada for adoption.
