Melvin was found as a scared, disoriented puppy near the highway, still wearing a collar. We believe he once had a home — but someone either lost him or left him behind. He was only about seven months old when he arrived at the shelter, injured with a bad cut to his neck and shoulder. Thanks to good nutrition and veterinary care, Melvin healed completely — and his personality came roaring to life.

Today, Melvin is a happy, gregarious boy whose tail never stops wagging. He is tall, strong, and one of the fastest runners in his group. He loves to play, loves people, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. But he's not all energy — Melvin would be just as happy going on long walks as he would relaxing on the couch with his people. He is smart, a quick learner, and eager to please.

Melvin has been waiting at the shelter since he was a puppy. He has never known the comfort of a real home, a family, or a bed of his own.

He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to travel to the USA or Canada for adoption.
