Zorrillo was five months old when he was rescued — a puppy living with an elderly couple who loved him but simply couldn't keep up with him anymore. He kept escaping. Other dogs in the neighborhood attacked him. He wasn't getting enough to eat. The situation wasn't anyone's fault, but it wasn't working, and it was only a matter of time before something went seriously wrong.

So he came to the shelter. And he grew up there.

The dog Zorrillo became is everything a puppy raised with love and patience can be — playful, social, warm with people, easy with other dogs. He has medium energy, the kind that makes him a genuinely fun companion without being exhausting. He is the kind of dog who fills a room with good energy the moment he walks in.

He has never really known a home. The elderly couple's house was a revolving door of escapes and close calls. The shelter has been safe, but it is still a shelter. Zorrillo has grown up never knowing what it feels like to belong somewhere — to have a yard that is his, a family that is his, a door he comes home to every day.

He is young, healthy, and has everything ahead of him. He just needs someone to give him the life he was always meant to have.
