Zuri was five months old when she was found — curled up underneath a car, hidden from the world. The driver noticed her before starting the engine. He couldn't get her out himself. So they called for help.

She came out from under that car and went straight to the shelter. She has been there ever since.

Zuri grew up within those walls — a sweet, beautiful girl with a black and brindle coat that turns heads wherever she goes. She has medium energy, a gentle nature, and an easy way with both people and other dogs. There is a softness to her that makes you wonder how she ended up under a car in the first place, alone and frightened at just five months old.

But that is behind her now. What isn't behind her yet is having a home.
Zuri has never known what it feels like to belong to someone — to have a name that gets called at the door, a spot on the couch that is hers, a person who chose her. She has known care and safety at the shelter, and she is grateful for it in the way dogs are. But she deserves more than that.
